Information Technology Services (ITS)
Education, Awareness & Culture (EAC)
The Education, Awareness & Culture team is responsible for developing communications plans, strategies, materials and events that help inform, educate and drive engagement across University of Toronto’s tri-campus community.
The Education, Awareness & Culture team is an integral part of the Information Technology Services division. The team is part of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is responsible for developing communications plans, strategies, materials and events — all guided by the ITS core values and the IT@UofT strategic plan.
The team’s work helps inform, educate, develop and drive engagement among key University of Toronto audiences: staff, faculty and students across the tri-campus community. Outreach includes website and social media presence, a monthly e-newsletter, news articles, promotion of technical resources, campus events and more.
Education, Awareness & Culture provides communication advice, planning and support to the Office of the CIO as well as the seven different units within the ITS portfolio. This includes work related to helping reduce security risks, such as anti-phishing campaigns and the Security Matters educational website. The team also organizes and facilitates leadership and professional development opportunities and events.
