Techniques for conceptualizing, creating, and maintaining accessible documents will be discussed, along with how to build these into department wide processes. A heavy emphasis is placed on why those techniques are important, and the ramifications of formatting decisions.

Participants will learn about Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and how they apply to the AODA, what this means for their role at the University and provide a foundation for discussion of web accessibility with different types of stakeholders.

In this talk, Shion Guha will explore how predictive risk models are used in government agencies, deconstructing and interrogating what “risk” actually means in these systems and providing provocative directions for how to move beyond existing approaches.
This session will describe the buddy program's activities, roles and responsibilities of mentor-buddies and how interested staff can apply to take part as an experienced buddy who will welcome a newcomer.
What does it mean to be an ally to Indigenous peoples? And is it even possible to call yourself an ally or is more correct to say that one can only aspire to be an ally as allyship is a continuous process of self-reflexivity and learning and acting in a decolonial manner. These are some of the questions and issues that will be explored in the hour and a half presentation.
