The University of Toronto (U of T) and Information Technology Services is committed to making the institution an inclusive, diverse and equitable environment for everyone. In the past few months, a group of ITS staff has volunteered to initiate development of an inclusive language guide for ITS. In this session we will begin to explore the potential impacts of unconscious bias, consider language examples from the IT professional context, and situate this work in the broader context of diversity and inclusion at U of T. A working draft of the IT@UofT Inclusive Language Guide will be shared for your feedback and input. Join us to learn more and contribute your insights.
