Updates to the UTORid activation process

Starting Oct. 17, 2026, the university is updating how new students, faculty, staff and librarians activate their UTORid and choose their initial password.

The new process uses Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) and a verified personal email address to make onboarding faster, more consistent and more secure. SAK letters will no longer be issued.  

Existing UTORid holders are not affected.
