Get involved in TechKnowFile 2026!

Published on: January 14, 2026

The TechKnowFile (TKF) conference is back and will take place on May 6 – 7 on St. George campus!

Founded in 2003, TKF was designed to be a meeting place for IT professionals — an opportunity to present on solutions to technical issues, hear from fascinating keynote speakers on pertinent subjects, and meet some key vendors and see their products and services, all in one place.

TKF has grown and evolved over the years. Its name changed to the IT@UofT conference for a short time, and some years we partnered with CANHEIT and OHEIT. We’ve seen attendance grow from 300 to over 900 people.

Planning is underway for the 2026 conference and we are recruiting volunteers for the following conference committees:

Programming committee

  • Defining the program streams
  • Reviewing and voting on session proposal submissions
  • Meeting approximately five times between February and April for one-hour meetings and will be required to allocate additional time to review and vote on session proposal submissions.

Logistics committee

  • Assisting with identifying spaces for conference sessions
  • Coordinating on-site logistics
  • Liaising with AV, facilities and other campus service providers
  • Supporting day-of event operations and troubleshooting logistical issues

Vendor fair committee

  • Helping to recruit vendors/sponsors
  • Stewarding the vendor relationship before, during and after the conference
  • Helping to co-ordinate vendor location and setup at the fair
  • Contributing to the vendor fair playbook
  • Meeting bi-weekly between February and May for 30-minute meetings to review sponsorship status, track payments

Communications committee

  • Developing and executing a communications plan to promote the conference
  • Contributing content to the TKF website

Food and entertainment committee
