September 24, 2024, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

What is a Data Management Plan and why do I need one?

This workshop is intended to provide a basic overview of Data Management Plans (DMPs), a tool often used to lay a foundation for good research data management practices through the life of a research project and beyond. This workshop will cover a basic overview of the components of a typical data management plan and share resources available to support researchers and their teams to get started.

DMPs will be required for certain Tri-Agency opportunities. This webinar content may be modified if new information about Tri-Agency specific requirements becomes available.

Speaker:

  • Dylanne Dearborn, Research Data Management Coordinator, University of Toronto Libraries

Learning objectives

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe why managing research data is important
  • Identify common elements often included in data management plans
