Data organization and storage choices are a routine part of research data management practice. These decisions can have a critical impact on data security, privacy and research integrity. At the University of Toronto, researchers have a range of options to choose from; but may not know which option is optimal to store and share data while continuing to meet ethical, legal, and other requirements. The University of Toronto’s Microsoft SharePoint platform provides secure cloud-based data storage and sharing solutions for many research contexts.
The Centre for Research Innovation & Support (CRIS) in collaboration with the Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) is hosting a session on SharePoint for research. Using case examples, this session will explore how researchers can use SharePoint to store and share data and project materials. Considerations for data sensitivity and collaborative research will be addressed. Participants will also learn where to find help at U of T to find solutions for specific research storage and sharing needs. The presentation will be followed by an audience Q&A period.
