Strategic Plan project update: Community feedback
Published on: August 26, 2024
To craft a strategic plan that captures the shared objectives of the IT@UofT community, ITS leadership engaged in a broad program of consultation across all three campuses in spring 2024.
Our updated objectives will reflect what we have learned from you, with the refreshed IT@UofT 2025-2027 Strategic Plan to be published in fall 2024.
Consultation process:
Through a two-month engagement process with in-person and virtual town halls, surveys and polls, we asked our community members for input on priorities across the three IT@UofT pillars: people, solutions and collaboration. Groups invited to provide input include:
- IT@UofT governance boards: IT@UofT Board, IT@UofT Business Board, Advisory Committee on Enterprise Information Technology, Enterprise IT Update Committee
- Tri-campus partner IT divisions: University of Toronto Mississauga, University of Toronto Scarborough
- Enterprise system advisory groups
- Academic-tech committees: Academic Technology Reference Group, Toolbox End-User Support Team, Information Commons, The Centre for Research and Innovation Support, Entrepreneurship and Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation
- Application-related committees, information security committees
- Students: Student Life
- Accessibility for Ontarions with Disabilities Act (AODA) Office
Engagement
- Community members were invited to participate in one of six town halls offered virtually and in-person across the three campuses. Input was also solicited through regular committee and working group meetings.
- Four invitation methods were used: In the Loop, ITS-All-Staff listserv, InfoTech listserv and Enterprise IT Update committee listserv.
- Almost 2,000 community members were invited to participate in the process.
- Of these, almost 300 community members participated in the town halls and other meetings.
Next steps
The final IT@UofT Strategic Plan will be released and shared with the community in November/December 2024.
