ITS staff practice sustainability with Pantree
Published on: January 16, 2024
Pantree is Toronto’s one-stop-shop for modern, healthy and sustainable office services, providing everything from snacks and coffee to water filtration and more. The ITS teams located in the 215 Huron building have been using Pantree for their kitchen supplies since 2018 and, as a result, have funded the planting of 100 trees.
“A big part of the appeal is their recycling program, in which they offer to recycle the Keurig single-use coffee pods we use which would otherwise contribute to non-biodegradable waste in landfills,” explains Keshav Raina, Administrative Officer, Business Operations & Administration, ITS. “In addition, they offer carbon-neutral delivery and plant one tree for each order we place. So far, they’re up to 157,924 trees planted, and we’re proud to be responsible for 100 of those trees.”
Since its launch in 2015, Pantree has also diverted 261,468 LBS of waste from landfills and recycled 3,567,490 coffee pods!
On the heels of U of T being named the most sustainable university in the world, ITS is proud to contribute to that achievement.
