Upcoming changes to Weblogin page improve user experience
Published on: January 18, 2022
On Feb. 23, 2022, the University of Toronto’s (U of T) Weblogin page will be updated to better comply with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards.
Weblogin is U of T’s single sign-on service and is used daily by staff, faculty and students to provide authorized access to hundreds of services via UTORid/password/multi-factor authentication. In order to meet the recommendations from the AODA office and the diverse needs of the community, the Weblogin user interface will undergo upgrades to its look and feel.
“In addition to keeping U of T’s people and data secure, Information Security is always looking for ways to enhance user experience and inclusivity,” says Deyves Fonseca, Associate Director, Information Security Operations. “Better enabling accessibility for Weblogin is essential to provide more equal access to people with diverse abilities at the University of Toronto.”
Changes to this web page have been successfully tested and endorsed by multiple stakeholders and will be implemented and launched on Feb. 23, 2022. While users will notice aesthetic changes such as colour and layout, the basic functionality of the page will remain unchanged.
What does this mean for users?
As a user, no action is required to prepare for or activate the new web page. As of Feb. 23, 2022, the Weblogin page will automatically update, and users will continue to use their UTORid and password to access U of T services.
Information Security assures users that these upcoming changes are legitimate and should not cause concern (i.e., this is not a phishing attempt).
