October is Cyber Security Awareness Month, a globally recognized campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of information security.
Every year, the University of Toronto celebrates Cyber Security Awareness Month with events aimed to equip the tri-campus community with knowledge and educational resources on information security.
This year, the tri-campus community is coming together to host events about excellence through collaboration, effective risk management, safeguarding data for researchers and more.
Cyber Security Awareness Month at U of T
With the release of U of T’s information security strategy, this year’s theme revolves around empowering the tri-campus community with knowledge about the strategic objectives. Throughout October, we will be hosting events and sharing resources in alignment with the objectives.

- Excellence through collaboration
You will also have the opportunity to learn about information security efforts at U of T and meet the dedicated individuals/teams working tirelessly to protect the University from security threats.
But that’s not all – throughout October and beyond, we have plenty of opportunities for U of T staff, faculty and students to learn how to protect themselves in the digital world.

Join us for some intellectual fun and participate in educational games to test your knowledge of information security. Plus, there are prizes and giveaways that await you—a token of our appreciation for your commitment to information security at U of T.
Meet information security practitioners from across the tri-campus and Isaac Straley, U of T’s Chief Information Security Officer. They’ll be available for insightful conversations about the information security field, sharing security best practices, essential safety tips and more.
