DESCRIPTION:This session will provide managers and supervisors with key strategies to create and maintain accessible and inclusive working environments. Together\, we will identify the critical competencies people leaders need to make their teams feel welcome\, a sense of belonging and comfortable to contribute fully. Through the exploration of concepts like universal design\, emerging perspectives like neurodiversity\, and ideas from disability inclusion\, participants will leave the session feeling confident they can foster inclusive working environments where excellence flourishes. \nTarget Audience: PM4 and higher \nLearning outcomes\n\nUnderstand the essential components needed to create a barrier-free workplace environment that welcomes disability.\nExplore principles of universal design\, disability inclusion\, neurodiversity and accessibility apply them to working environments.\nImplement practical strategies aimed at fostering accessible and inclusive leadership.\n\nSession format\n\n2-hour\, hybrid using Teams\nThe session will be presentation based with opportunities for participants to ask questions and engage in the topic.\nParticipants will be asked to provide answers to some questions using MS Teams polls and third-party platforms like Menti.\nParticipants are invited to engage in ways that work for them. Chat participation is welcome\, however we ask that this be restricted to specific Q&A sections of the presentation\, to avoid distraction. DESCRIPTION:REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a secure web application that University of Toronto researchers can use to build and manage online surveys and databases. While REDCap can be used to collect virtually any type of data\, it is specifically built to support online or offline data capture for research studies. \nThe Centre for Research and Innovation Support (CRIS) in collaboration with Academic\, Research & Collaborative Technologies (ARC) is hosting REDCap Office Hours.
