BLACKBOARD CONNECT (BB CONNECT): The Blackboard Connect is a tool used by University of Toronto to send mass notifications amd reach the community in minutes—whether it is a time-sensitive situation, event outreach, or attendance notification. The BbConnect App is available for the iOS and Android platforms.

BUSINESS CONTINUITY: The goal of business continuity planning is to enable us to continue the campus “business” (teaching, research, and public service) regardless of any disruption that may befall us.  If a severe disruption renders us unable to continue, our goal must be to resume as much teaching, research, and public service as possible within a very short time – hopefully no more than 30 days. 

The University of Toronto has adopted an on-line business continuity planning tool (originally developed by the University of California at Berkeley) to help your department prepare for adverse events which could be disruptive to your teaching and research mission.
SERVICES FOR: STUDENT FACULTY STAFF ALUMNI VISITOR
CENTRAL DATA BACKUP - UTORRECOVER: Professionally managed backup solution provided by Information Technology Services (ITS). The service is available to any University faculty member or department. Other than the requirement that the client system be on the University’s network, there are virtually no restrictions on the type of hardware, operating system or total amount of data to be backed up.

COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIFICATIONS, STANDARDS AND PRACTICES: Periodically, we produce documents intended to codify for the purposes of general information to the University community the current practice of Network Development and Implementation. These documents are produced from time to time, often in response to specific issues, and are not intended to be comprehensive with regard to the policies and procedures of the Institution. They should be used as guides rather than dogmatic directives. While some of them are dated, they are intended to provide a basis for coordinated and coherent action with regard to network planning, implementation and operation.
