ENCRYPTION: The University of Toronto is committed to protecting its information resources and has issued a "Guideline regarding security for personal and other confidential information."  This guideline requires that personal and other confidential information in electronic form be protected by properly implemented encryption unless it is kept in a secure server environment with appropriately restricted users rights. 


SERVICES FOR: STUDENT FACULTY STAFF ALUMNI VISITOR
MICROSOFT CAMPUS AGREEMENT: University of Toronto has negotiated a Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions (ESS) Program at no charge for all faculty and staff. The Campus Agreement provides CORE CAL licenses, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Forefront Endpoint protection and Microsoft Office Professional for Windows or Macintosh for installation on University of Toronto owned equipment.  For personally owned machines, University of Toronto faculty and staff members can take advantage of the Home Use Program (HUP) and purchase, for a nominal cost, the Microsoft Office Professional (Windows or Mac) from Microsoft directly.

UOFT DNS : Information on how DNS is handled at University of Toronto, including:
  • Editing network contact information
  • Acquiring new net network space (numbers and subnets).
  • Adding/Freeing existing network space in an efficient and simple manner
  • Registering a new domain name
  • Providing DNS (forward and reverse) service
SERVICES FOR: STUDENT FACULTY STAFF ALUMNI VISITOR
PHONE SET CATALOGUE: Supported telephone sets (Meridian business sets and single line sets) and all telecom peripheral equipment such as Audio Conferencing Units, Head Sets, can be purchased from a number of online vendors.  While departments are free to purchase supported equipment from any vendor they choose, Telecom Services has provided links in the Phone Set Catalogue that you may click on to see current pricing from recommended suppliers and to place orders directly.   Orders should be carefully coordinated with service order cutovers. Telecommunications is happy to answer any questions you may have about the various phone sets that are available depending on the line type in question. Telecom Services cannot guarantee that all features will work if departments choose to purchase equipment that is not listed in the Phone Set Catalogue.
